State School we offer dynamic curriculum programs that suit the needs of all
students allowing them to acquire knowledge, skills, values, attitudes and
capabilities necessary for success in the 21st century. We believe in supportive, challenging and
enjoyable learning environments for students. Our curriculum supports the development of life long learning.
At Burrowes State School a number of curriculum based programs are in use.
PrepSTART
Aims to produce life long literacy learners. In both 2014 and 2015, PrepSTART has won both Regional and State awards.

StrongFOUNDATIONS
Aims to work in line with PrepSTART building seamless transition for literacy learning from prep to year one.
Words their way
Meeting the individual spelling needs of students.
Guided reading
Responsive teaching to meet student needs.
Assessment
Closely linked to the teaching and learning of every student, every day, leading to responsive intervention, including learning extension.
Enhancement programs
Specifically identified students are able to participant in school based activities to enhance their curriculum experiences through creative and critical thinking, lego robotics etc. This includes access to experts often at other sites.
Sunrise Maths
A morning math based group.
Learning centre
A framework that provides support for verified students with a disability.
Learning Support
The support teacher: literacy and numbers (STLAN) along with specialist literacy and numeracy teachers work with teachers and students to develop targeted support programs.
Speech Language Pathologist:
Providing speech and language assessments and programs to support learning.
