At Burrowes State School our Whole School Approach to teaching and learning is guided by 'The Work' (Lyn Sharratt ) ensuring equity and excellence. Through 'The Work', BSS Staff collaborate across planning days, professional learning teams and year level teams, to engage students in learning opportunities enabling students to realise and reach their potential. Burrowes SS encourages community engagement in the teaching and learning experiences for all students.
'The Work' focusses on shared knowledge between educators, breeding shared success in all systems in schools. Through Sharratt's work, BSS staff come together to boost student achievement and build teacher capacity to learn, teach and lead, essentially providing 'clarity' for the entire school community. Using the 14 essential Parameters to guide system and school leaders toward building powerful collaborative, high-impact pedagogies and quality learning cultures.
We start with the data and use this to inform teaching and learning. Our Approach to 'The Whole Child' ensures that we are aligned to the Australian Curriculum and provide equity and excellence in the work that we do.
